SSOUNDS PARTY · SILENT CINEMA
Silent cinema – outdoor screenings with wireless headphones
Every word of the film comes through the headphones while the area around stays quiet. Two languages run side by side on two channels and each viewer picks their own.

How silent cinema works
Projector and screen
The organiser or venue provides the projector and screen. SSounds doesn't supply projectors; we take care of the sound through headphones.
Audio into the transmitter
Audio from the playback device (laptop or media player) plugs into a transmitter. A second-language track goes into a second transmitter.
Viewers choose a language
Viewers switch channels on the headset, for example red for Vietnamese and blue for English. The LED colour shows staff at a glance who is on which channel.
Why choose silent cinema?
Outdoor screenings on loud speakers can disturb neighbours and are hard to hear over wind and traffic. With headphones every seat sounds the same and each viewer sets their own volume.
Silent cinema makes it possible to screen films on rooftops, at resorts, in parks or near homes while respecting Vietnam's noise standard QCVN 26:2010/BTNMT.
- International and Vietnamese viewers watch the same screening in their own language.
- The third channel can carry commentary, a director Q&A or pre-show music.
- 10-hour battery handles back-to-back films in one night.
